The quality was pretty good. The red Damascus steal was more like a finish that chipped at the tip. The katana came pretty oiled and sharpened, I was surprised. Overall pretty good and would be great for display.

I was surprised by just how nice this sword is. When you buy a handmade sword for under $300, you're not expecting to use it fighting other immortals for their power, but I was actually blown away by how well it is made. The purple color of the Damascus blade is beautiful. It was way sharper than I expected it to be. The detail of the engravings and hand guard is perfect. The sword fits securely within the sheath, which is also very nice and the wrapping on the handle is tight and the spacing is very even in the cord. While my intention for this was a wall mounted display, I have found myself handling this sword way more than I expected. Shipping was lighting fast, I think about 4-5 days from order until it arrived. I will be buying my next TrueKatana soon!

Good katana, seems to be real Damascus with red coating. Sharp out of the box but when actually razor sharp the edge is silver which is fine but I'm sure when used for Tomeshigiri the blade will scuff but this isn't the real issue for me. At first there was a rattle which was loose decorations on tsuba but also a wiggle in the blade which I thought was the weguki possibly broken so I disassembled and discovered that apparently the blade was not properly aligned while drilling so there is a very thin spot in the tang which you can see it the picture accounting for the blade wiggle.

Overall the sword is as described but i wouldnt use it. Handle is cracked from factory and edge well there isnt one. But if you want a show piece this is perfect
