Honest feedback: My first ever katana. Beautiful craftsmanship. Does look exactly like the image online, and an intense feeling of caution and anxiety occurs when I unsheathe the blade. Hilarious, but highly important instruction/liability manual......DO NOT LICK THE BLADE. DO NOT CHOP VEGETABLES WITH THE BLADE. I can only image some of the cases.

The quality of the sword is really nice for the price. The shipping costs were unknown until after the purchase, which would have been nicer to know beforehand. At first the katana its hard to take out from the scabbard so need to trim a little bit in the inside to loosen a bit. Then the piece of wood that is holding the sageo in the scabbard fell off. But all in all the katana is sharp. Good balance of the blade and when you swing the blade it makes a hacking sound, and what I like is the hamon of the blade with a wave like pattern.

The Tsuba is a bit thinner than I expected, but that is not necessarily a problem. r
I also note that the balance point is about 5 inches forward of the Tsuba - a bit farther forward than most. It works for me as the sword handles quite well.

If I could give 3.5 stars, I would. For my first sword buying experience, I regret ordering online but I’m glad I ordered thru TrueKatana. As someone who never owned a sword, my initial impressions were blown away upon delivery. My only issue with the handle itself is that the Tsuba & Habaki don’t match the picture. The 4stars in my review are from the fact TrueKatana was also EXTREMELY communicative & responded to my emails swiftly during the shipping process. All in all, I’d buy again!
