Sword is nice however the sheath is loose and doesn’t hold sword firmly. Also the handle shows the rivets holding it together. Overall I guess I expected more for the price but then again this isn’t a $1000 sword. If I buy again I will look at higher end katanas.

Delivered well and without issues. Blade and scabbard/saya are beautiful, although the scabbard is very tight, even tight for the initial unsheathing phase of the blade. Even knowing the wood will expand eventually, I may still need to file it down a little to allow for the blade to even be drawn. For any potential buyers as well (I was unaware of this), the scabbard's design is not placed onto the wood itself, but comes from leather sewn onto the scabbard. Otherwise a good purchase and the sword is quality, and functions really well for decoration and very light practical use.

I'm leaving 5 stars but I'd prefer to drop it to 4.8 or 4.9. The sword was perfect. Crafted well, sharpened to a fine blade, and beautiful. The only issue was a minor cosmetic issue where some adhesive had failed and something popped of the sheath. A little super glue and it was fixed though so it wasn't a big deal but something of not for sure. Especially if it was to happen and a small piece was lost and not able to be reattached.

I love this sword and tanto set I really do, the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is there are a couple of simple things that could make it much better (hey, you asked). The Tsuba on both the Tanto and Katana are an awesome design, but the underside where the hand meets the guard, is actually so rough it's enough to take skin off with it if you're not careful (I'll spare you the pictures). The other very minor thing would be some proper care instructions. I loved the list of things NOT to do with your katana, I put it up on my wall just in case I forget lol. Besides that, both these blades are wicked sharp, surprisingly so, I don't think a razor blade could best them with how sharp they are right now, impressive. The full-tang is the way to go, never will I ever buy a blade again that rattles, and this one is firm and solid in it's holdings. The wrapping is amazing, I love the ray skin and the golden figure underneath the white. All in all, excellent work, I will defintely order from here in the futre. Oh one last thing, if you guys figure out a way that's as protective as styrofoam but isn't, that would be much appreciated, that stuff sucks to unwrap, I still have a couple pieces swirling around on my porch, no biggie though. protecting the sword comes first. Thanks again for an amazing sword!

The sword came sooner than expected, around 5 days, pretty fast communication with support if i had questions, which i did. the sword is very sharp and came with a protective oil coating wrapped in plastic around the blade. looks great, just as advertised. my only complaint would be that drawing the sword from the scabbard leaves some wood particles on the blade. easily cleans off though, so not too big of a concern. overall, relatively cheap, good quality, great service. I would order from TrueKatana again. if you are someone looking into katanas but don’t really know where to go and don’t trust very many websites, TrueKatana is definitely a good place to buy from.

Katana is beautiful and sturdy! Only issue is the metal bracket used to hold the strap will slip along the length of the scabbard. I wish that would stay in place. But otherwise a beautiful katana.
