I bought this Katana as an 18th birthday gift for my son. He’s very involved in martial arts and things of that nature. He went and found the Katana and asked for it as his gift. We were actually blown away by the craftsmanship and beauty of both the katana and the wooden sheath. The Katana itself is gorgeous and so well made the attention to detail is remarkable. The wooden sheath is stunning and looks like a masterpiece itself. We quickly ordered wall mounts and it’s proudly mounted on my son’s wall in his room. Amazing quality. Everything is snug, tight, and very well-built. The tang is tightly wound with durable ray skin underneath. The end cap of the tang is snuggly fitted. The blade itself, while this will be used for display, is extremely sturdy. r

My main purchasing factor was that True Katana was the only company selling WWII katanas (olive color, rosewood, etc.), and all of the designs and effects are 100% accurate, with the reasonable exception that there is no stamp on the blade (but that's expected, because those forges did not make the blade). With that being said, for what this is, it's well worth the price. r

Also, shipping was very fast considering it came from China to America.

The sword itself seems like it was fine before being sent out from original facility, however the box was damaged, and sword handle was bent by UPS during shipping. I was able to bend it back into shape but obviously not happy with it.
This shipping damage is on top of being charged essentially most of the value of the sword as duty at Canadian border due to UPS “brokerage” fee, thus a 30$ import tax ended up costing 110$ extra.
I am happy my first purchase here was inexpensive - imagine paying a few thousand dollars for UPS to drop a couch on my pretty swords.
I will consider buying again but will have to arrange customs fees in advance, and I would need insurance on the shipment since, UPS cannot be trusted, at least cross border to Canada.
Pretty katana, has a nice weight and look and length and feel. No shaving or cutting allowed but still nice and sharp looking and scabbard all shiny.

Honestly the quality of the handguard, handle wrapping, and scabbard all leave quite a bit to be desired, especially for the price. And the blade itself is artificially darkened with some kind of grease that rubs off on your left hand every time you sheathe it.
