Everything is tight and the blade is sharp. The black blade was a surprise but it looks awesome! Had a small issue with the payment on the website and it was quickly resolved. This katana is now my favorite and I've bought over 7 from TK ,the reason is it's special blade geometry which makes it very light and fast with one hand. The hamon and polish are impeccable and the blade a beaty.The other reason is the fit and finish is flawless and especially love the fit of the Saya and its elegant silk string. Wanted to take this opportunity to recommend the t10 folded naginata's I've included, these have the same blade geometry as katana reviewed (which also makes them light)they are 1 3/8" tall the whole way through the blade(which is the same length)opposed to a 11/4" tapering to 1". These naginata's are bigger and badder ,you won't be sorry you picked one up.

Love the Look of it online, but unfortunately the Dragon Carving is not as prominent as shown on the website. I’m not sure if this is on purpose or not but it seems that the lacquer/ varnish was over done and it covered the dragon carving to the point that it makes it almost invisible/ not easily seen.
Other than that I think that the Sword is amazing the Handle and the Tsuba are fitted great, I do wish that the Tsuba had a dragon design instead to match the Saya (sheath) but it’s sharp and feels really good in your hands.
If you want to buy it I’d double check regarding the Saya (Sheath) dragon carving and if it’s supposed to be dark like that or not.

I could not be more pleased with my order of the pictured katana. First, the packaging was very well done. Order arrived in a styrofoam box wrapped in water proof yellow tape. Inside, the blade was in its scabbard (saya) which was in a clear plastic wrap for protection. Upon removing the blade, I found it inside of an oiled tubular plastic wrap for corrosion protection. Second, the scabbard had a beautiful, consistent coloration and was made of hardwood with gold fittings - classy. Third the blade - 5/16" thick at the crossguard (tsuba) tapering to 3/16" at the tip. The differential heat treating line was stunning. The blade was very sharp and the handle was also covered in clear plastic wrap for protection. What a great value - I will definitely be a repeat customer!

it is heavy and feels high quality, not just a cheap slab of metal. My one gripe is there are some issues with the paint, it feels like it was done poorly and has blemishes on the sheath as well. overall I'm still satisfied, you don't really notice the paint issue while it's on display unless you look closely.
