I like knives and I have different types of knives and hand sharpener, electric sharpener (Tormek). I keep my knives always sharp. First time owner of a Katana. First impression is good. The steel is original Damascus. The hamon looks good. r

Things I did not like much:r
1. It was written that it is razor sharp. No, definitely not razor sharp, even noth sharp. It doesn't cut folded paper towel even though I press much. With fingers, I don't feel the sharpened. After sharpening my knives, I test them and I am what is sharp and what is notr
2. Polish is not good enough. In some points of blade, with my nail, I can easily feel the Damascus layers.r
3. Habaki: design is good, but workmanship looks poor, machine made.r
4. Saya: The thing that really bothered me was the saya. When you shake the blade, it makes wabbling noise. The blade does not perfectly fit to Saya. r

I think for this price, it was good enough.

If I could give 3.5 stars, I would. For my first sword buying experience, I regret ordering online but I’m glad I ordered thru TrueKatana. As someone who never owned a sword, my initial impressions were blown away upon delivery. My only issue with the handle itself is that the Tsuba & Habaki don’t match the picture. The 4stars in my review are from the fact TrueKatana was also EXTREMELY communicative & responded to my emails swiftly during the shipping process. All in all, I’d buy again!

This katana is now my favorite and I've bought over 7 from TK ,the reason is it's special blade geometry which makes it very light and fast with one hand. The hamon and polish are impeccable and the blade a beaty.The other reason is the fit and finish is flawless and especially love the fit of the Saya and its elegant silk string. Wanted to take this opportunity to recommend the t10 folded naginata's I've included, these have the same blade geometry as katana reviewed (which also makes them light)they are 1 3/8" tall the whole way through the blade(which is the same length)opposed to a 11/4" tapering to 1". These naginata's are bigger and badder ,you won't be sorry you picked one up.
