I bought this because it was almost identical to one I purchased on Amazon. But this one said it was Damascus. And I got it and the case seems to be better quality a lot thicker but the blade was shorter even though it said it was longer than my other one and the balance of the blade is far to the left. Instead of balancing out like my other one. I have heard a lot about true katana and assume that maybe you just have to have a high price one to have it balanced like my cheap Amazon one that honestly works amazing for $120 where this was supposed to be $200 normally but was on sale. Honestly I'm hoping the Damascus stays sharp but it didn't come very sharp so I might need to sharpen it and hopefully it will maintain the blade. I just hoped for more out of the price.

The only thing I did was wipe the blade with some blade oil to even out the shine. Definitely a wonderful piece for the price. The full tang is evident when swinging, the blade has a convex grind, the craftsmanship is superb for such an relatively low-priced sword. Absolutely love the purchase.
Oh and the blade is more of a burnt orange/red orange blade color depending on lighting, as opposed to crimson, which i was a bit disappointed about. I envisioned a more red/darkred tinted blade, but that is the most I can critique honestly. Seriously appreciate the attention to detail! I can only imagine the quality of the $2000 swords, maybe in another life I'd be able to afford one of those, haha.

The sword is beautiful. I bought two swords on Amazon and they both broke within a week. My son (who is into Katana Swords) was devastated. This sword is built so much better and it’s very sleek. He’s only 6 so he’s not allowed to touch it without Mommy or Daddy right next to him. I’m teaching him to respect the sword and to understand it’s a very powerful weapon. We love it.
