Honest feedback: My first ever katana. Beautiful craftsmanship. Does look exactly like the image online, and an intense feeling of caution and anxiety occurs when I unsheathe the blade. Hilarious, but highly important instruction/liability manual......DO NOT LICK THE BLADE. DO NOT CHOP VEGETABLES WITH THE BLADE. I can only image some of the cases.

Things I did not like much:r
1. It was written that it is razor sharp. No, definitely not razor sharp, even noth sharp. It doesn't cut folded paper towel even though I press much. With fingers, I don't feel the sharpened. After sharpening my knives, I test them and I am what is sharp and what is notr
2. Polish is not good enough. In some points of blade, with my nail, I can easily feel the Damascus layers.r
3. Habaki: design is good, but workmanship looks poor, machine made.r
4. Saya: The thing that really bothered me was the saya. When you shake the blade, it makes wabbling noise. The blade does not perfectly fit to Saya. r

This set, however, is of curious origins. The blades look amazing as always, a deep blue with an almost purple hue in the light. The Sakura tattoo on the blade and habaki add a classy touch and the engraved blossom on the scabbard is very eye catching and well done.r
However, the katana only has one mekugi peg so I worry about how full the tang is. It feels solid enough, but the habaki was also loose when I got it, and had to be fixed with a spacer... it seems like a corner or 2 was cut with the katana but again, great looking blade. The grip wrapping feels old, like maybe it's been in a warehouse for a while. Not bad, just not the greatest sword I've gotten from truekatana...r

Overall I'd be cautious with this particular set but I'm sure it has more to do with suppliers than truekatana

Love the Look of it online, but unfortunately the Dragon Carving is not as prominent as shown on the website. I’m not sure if this is on purpose or not but it seems that the lacquer/ varnish was over done and it covered the dragon carving to the point that it makes it almost invisible/ not easily seen.
Other than that I think that the Sword is amazing the Handle and the Tsuba are fitted great, I do wish that the Tsuba had a dragon design instead to match the Saya (sheath) but it’s sharp and feels really good in your hands.
If you want to buy it I’d double check regarding the Saya (Sheath) dragon carving and if it’s supposed to be dark like that or not.
