Placed the order on July 14th and received the sword today. Apparently when TrueKatana says "in stock" that means in stock in China.....still, the tracking was not bad at all, I could log on and get info anytime, right up until delivery. I admit I was apprehensive about paying this much for a Katana, but I have to say that it has exceeded my expectations and I am very happy with this purchase. r
The fit and finish is absolutely perfect, I cannot find a flaw in this blade, handle or scabbard. It even came with a neat silk lined case that I wasn't expecting. The Hamon is perfect, the blade has a beautiful taper and it is true to all the features of a WWII type 98 Shin Gunto. Anyone worried about the quality matching the price should buy with confidence, you will not be disappointed with this Katana!!!!!!

If I could give 3.5 stars, I would. For my first sword buying experience, I regret ordering online but Iâm glad I ordered thru TrueKatana. As someone who never owned a sword, my initial impressions were blown away upon delivery. My only issue with the handle itself is that the Tsuba & Habaki donât match the picture. The 4stars in my review are from the fact TrueKatana was also EXTREMELY communicative & responded to my emails swiftly during the shipping process. All in all, Iâd buy again!

I'm leaving 5 stars but I'd prefer to drop it to 4.8 or 4.9. The sword was perfect. Crafted well, sharpened to a fine blade, and beautiful. The only issue was a minor cosmetic issue where some adhesive had failed and something popped of the sheath. A little super glue and it was fixed though so it wasn't a big deal but something of not for sure. Especially if it was to happen and a small piece was lost and not able to be reattached.

The katana is heavier then it looks! Which is a plus for me I didnât mind, it felt like it had character! But I will say this the material on the handle came loose along with the bottom piece that holds it together and the Sagieo came loose as well, But I redid it my self and it looks more awesome now I love my katana

Itâs a good sword I love how it looks the price amazing. There was dried hot glue on some bits of the sheathe and on the habaki. The sword comes out of the sheathe easy but it doesnât just slip out like most profound swords do and requires a little more strength it makes me question it but over all 4 stars!
