Damn good sword. But since I was looking for a/ cane/sword instead of just a sword. But on resurching what else this Co has to offer? I've found me a Coldsteel Sword and Cane 18" in length. Since I'm I'm 61y/o I will also pick up a Cane/whip. That will give me peace of mind and not have to worry about picking up a charge of being in position of a double edged dirk or Derrick. Which some states don't allow. This is Not the first healthcare aid I have bought from this Company and it's damn sure not going to be the last!

It's a little bigger than what zatoichi fans should expect, but that was my fault for not knowing how big the listed length is (I'm 5'6) the quality is pretty darn good. The habaki is a little tight in koiguchi but that's expected of a shikomizue (to be used as a cane) I will definitely be purchasing from trukatana in future. Budget and sturdy quality stuff.

I originally bought this sword solely for the saya and planned on selling the sword. However, I ended up liking this sword way more than I expected so I decided to keep it. Shipping only took about a week so that was great. The sword I received was exactly as pictured. From what I can tell, the sword/saya is of great quality for the price and is well assembled. Super shard blade, excellent grip on the handle and nothing feels loose like it's about to fall apart. The grip on the handle is the main reason I kept the sword as it feels so comfortable in the hands and gives you a really firm, secure grip. My only complaint, as others have previously mentioned, is that the handle is slightly offset from the blade. Not a huge deal for me but definitely worth mentioning. The saya is excellent as well. I was looking for a saya with a matte black finish and this one definitely checked the box. I really wish some of these companies would stop advertising these swords as battle ready when they obviously aren't. There was a little paper booklet that came with the sword informing you of all the things you shouldn't do with the sword. I had a laugh at some of them such as "Don't lick the sword" or "Don't put the sword in your mouth". They obviously have to include this for legal reasons but most of it is just common sense lol. The only thing it said you should use the sword for is pretty much display, which contradicts what is stated in the description on the website. I bought this fully aware that this isn't a battle ready sword knowing I would only ever use it for display. If you wanted a battle ready sword, you would be paying $500 minimum likely much more than that. Could you use this sword to defend yourself if it came down it? Absolutely. It could definitely save your life. But I would never trust this sword with my life out on the battlefield knowing full well that it will most likely fail and break. I just wanted to bring this to light so any first time sword buyers know exactly what they are paying for and that swords in this price range are not battle ready. I just wish some of these companies could be more honest and upfront about what their swords can and cannot do. With all that being said, I still do like this sword very much and I can definitely recommend it to anyone who's interested. Just be aware of the limitations of swords in this price range.

This one is a great find. Beautiful build quality and also very affordable. It caught my eye emediately on the website, ordered it and when it arrived in almost less than a week I was not disappointed. The weight of it is awesome, really feels strong in hand. The sleek simple bamboo design is top notch also . This sword took me back to my days in Okinawa, Japan thanks True Katana! When it arrived there was a couple cracks in my scabbard causing it to release a little loosely but I addressed it with TrueKatana Customer service and they sent me a new scabbard free of charge! Best customer service ever! Sent an email with a couple pictures and Fiona responded promptly within 24 hrs. Very pleased with the TrueKatana brand so far! Looking forward to my next purchase. the first two swords i ordered are brilliant. they came from China and arrived quickly. i am very pleased. i ordered a third sword which was shipped from California and i was less pleased. the scabbard and hilt were not as pictured. i keep getting emails to review my orders so here i am. love the first two but am somewhat unhappy with my third sword. overall this is a great company and i will be back. cheers

Can it have been better? Yes. Not a bad sword given at it's price point. The blade wasn't evenly as sharp or polished as I would like it to be and had a few high spots, but after sharpening/honing and polishing I was able to get it to the sharpness I wanted. The scabbard came loose after 2-3 times pulling the blade out and leaves wood chips behind. I would have to clean the blade every pull, but is becoming less of a clean up after a while.

Blade edge is quality. Scabbard is quality. Handguard looks great. This handle is metal tube with studded rubber overmolding. Really lets your palm dig into your grip point. Wooden peg meguki. Screw on cap as the pommel was a minor pet peeve… the handle wasn’t exactly centered precisely about 2-3 mils deviation but doesn’t affect my swing just an aesthetic flaw. Also the habaki wasn’t fitted properly so it moved around maybe 1-2 mils towards the spine/edge, and .5 mil horizontally. I fixed it by making shims from wood and wedging them between the habaki and blade. No more movement after that.

Je ne m'y connais pas dans les différents métaux et aciers pour y apporter une appréciation constructive. Je peux juste dire que c'est lourd et robuste : tout est bien fini, bien fixé, aucune pièce ne "gigote"...
La qualité des finitions bonne, sans quelques rares imperfections, à ce prix il ne faut pas s'attendre à des finitions au millimètre près.
l'illustration du Saya (crânes) sont gravés dans le bois, ce n'est pas une vulgaire impression sur la peinture!

Agréablement surpris donc pour cette première commande, le choix est difficile pour le(s) prochain(s) car, oui, aux prix raisonnables et frais d'importation minimes, je commande à nouveau, ça donne envie de refaire la déco !

Par contre, certains articles sont à 0,00 frais d'envoi , et d'autres 19,99USD :-/

I got this for my husband, and he was surprise and very amused. But loved it. The packing was great. I was a bit surprise that it was coming from China, nothing on the website said it was coming from there. Getting the sword out of the scabbard was difficult, until I figure out that it was covered in plastic. Nice way to protected, but also less chance of cutting yourself when taking it out. Overall good. I don't know much about quality, but unless you are real samurai and regularly goes on battle, this sword looks and feels great. The weight felt nice, my husband agreed also. He managed to wielded and move it around a bit and found the feel of it good for him. The price did not hurt either. I was expected to paid more for it.

My only complaint is that online you stated this was a battle ready sword. That statement is quite false. how is it battle ready when ordering. Yet when it arrives you change that statement completely to one that states for dcorative purpose only. Please be honest about what you are selling, is it a knick knack or a sword. My blade arrived very dull as a matter of fact. How do you recommend I sharpen it because it is not the battle ready sword i thought i was purchasing.

Beautiful sword. Love it. The only complaint I have is it doesn’t like lock it self into the scabbard it easily falls out. But with it always being on display I should have to worry it’s just the thought it could fall out at anytime was kinda concerning for a minute but overall it was what I wanted.
